Dougie Lampkin flew to Dubai yesterday determined to maintain his early domination of the World Indoor Trials Championship.
The Silsden ace was in sensational form at Sheffield Arena on Saturday when he crushed his rivals in the opening event.
He delighted a noisy 8,000 strong crowd as he romped to victory with 13 penalty points fewer than his nearest challenger.
Now Lampkin is a hot favourite to extend his championship lead in Dubai on Thursday and Koblenz on Saturday as he bids for a fifth successive world indoor crown.
Lampkin, who has dominated the Sheffield event in recent years, winning it six-times in a row, said: "That's the best I have ever ridden at Sheffield and I think the winning margin shows just how well I have ridden.
"It's a great start to the year, now I just hope I can maintain that level all season.
"The fans were awesome, the noise was brilliant."
