NOSTALGIA lovers are steaming ahead to the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway for a weekend of reliving the difficult times of Britain during World War 2.
The railway will step back to the days of troops travelling on trains, civilians dressed in costumes of the period and the WRVS tea stall serving the troops as part of the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway Wartime Weekend.
The annual event is held on Saturday and Sunday with a frequent train service running between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
The new award-winning station at Bolton Abbey is used as the headquarters for the British Home Forces and various re-enactment societies will attend the event over the two days.
Visitors are being warned to watch out for the Home Guard, as well as soldiers and airmen returning home on leave.
Morning coffee and afternoon teas will be available to passengers on the trains, as well as at the station tea rooms, where there are gift shops and picnic areas.
For further information, contact the station on 01756 710614.
