From the Telegraph & Argus, first published Tuesday 23rd Mar 1999.
Striker Edinho has left Bradford City and is set to return to Portugal.
The Brazilian became a firm favourite after joining City in February 1997.
He was joint top scorer with Rob Steiner last season but has made just one start this campaign.
Edinho's contract was due to run until the end of June but City have agreed to a settlement.
Manager Paul Jewell said: "I would like to place on record the club's thanks to Edinho who has been a model professional.
"Edinho intends heading back to Portugal where he looks like joining Division Two leaders Port Omenusu."
Oldhan had shown interest in signing him but Edinho wanted to return to Portugal.
The future of Steiner remains unclear ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline with the Swede in the third month of his loan spell with Queens Park Rangers.
Steiner scored for Rangers in their 4-0 victory over Swindon at the weekend and Jewell intended speaking to his counterpart Gerry Fran-is about the Swede's future today.
